Spirit Radio Interview
of the rock band, Forever

1. Where are you from originally and what sort of things were you into growing up?
We are from southern California. We were into scary movies, heavy metal, partying, alcohol abuse and drugs, like speed. or coke.  Thank God we were saved! God has changed our lives and now we resist the temptations of the dark side.

2. How did you get started in the music business?
Most of us started as dancers, actors, singers and musicians in elementary school. We grew up with it. John worked at Atlantic Records as well as being a DJ at radio stations. Kristin and Keaundra came from musical theatre and our drummer came from Slayer's road crew.

3. How long have you been doing what you are doing now?
    Six years as Forever.

4. Who were some of your musical influences?
Everything from Rocka Rolla to Rocky Horror. From Heavy Metal like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Grand Funk, to Industrial bands like Nine Inch Nails and Machines of Loving Grace, Goth bands like The Cure and Type O Negative.

5. For those who may not have heard you before, how would you describe your music?
1980's Classic Heavy Metal mixed with 1990's Modern Alternative Rock.

6. What would you say that most of your songs are about?
Sex. Drugs. And Rock and Roll, Love and Relationships as seen by Christians.

7. What are your feelings toward Christians listening to secular music?
There is a lot of artists who are signed to secular labels that write are songs about God, but the evil empire covers it up or markets it as evil, just to try to sell records.  Iron Maiden's 'REVELATION' from Piece of Mind, was banned from MTV for being satanic, when it is actually about Jesus.  ditto for Stairway...

8. How has God been working in your life lately? What things has he been teaching you?
Patience, always endeavor to preserver. Also love our enemies and those who do us wrong including other Christians and don't judge God by what people do in his name, or how supposed Christians act. That's between them and God.

9. What is the most important thing that you would like people to take away from your music or live shows?
There is a straight and narrow pathway between you and God. As we start climbing up there we see something we want and stray off of our way. We start going here and there chasing money, girls or boys, cars and boat and all other worldly things. Before you know it we are lost. The highway to hell is a big long curvy road which snakes around everywhere. It has to go here, there and everywhere to pick up all the lost people.
The good news is that every day it crosses that straight and narrow pathway to Heaven and every day Jesus calls you to follow him up that pathway, that stairway to Heaven.

10. What is your favorite bible verse?
John 14:6.  Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

11. What things do you like to do in your spare time?
What spare time? Serving God is 24/7

12. Who is your favorite Christian artist?
    We love them all.
